Running one or more hospitals
Administer facilities with role-based access, self-service permission explainers, multi-hospital staff, departments and schedules.
DoctSoft administers a single hospital or a whole group from one platform. Access is governed by roles, staff can work across facilities, and the day-to-day building blocks live in one place: departments, doctor schedules, leave and salary.
Role-based access control
Every staff member holds a role that determines what they can do. Roles keep reception out of clinical documentation and keep the pharmacy focused on dispensing, without anyone having to police it manually.
| Role | Typical scope |
|---|---|
ADMIN | Runs the hospital: staff, departments, schedules, configuration. |
RECEPTION | Front office: registration, appointments, check-in. |
DOCTOR | Clinical work: consultations, orders, documentation. |
PHARMACIST | Pharmacy: dispensing and stock. |
The "My Access" explainer
My Access is a self-service view that tells each staff member, in plain language, what they can do in the system and who to ask when they need more. It answers "why can't I see this?" without a support ticket.
Point new staff to My Access on day one. It sets expectations about their role and shows them who grants additional access.
Multi-hospital staff
Some clinicians and administrators work across more than one facility. DoctSoft supports multi-hospital staff, so a person who covers several hospitals is managed as one identity across them rather than as duplicate accounts.
Departments and doctor schedules
Hospitals are organised into departments, and each doctor has a schedule that defines when they are available. Schedules are what the patient portal and front desk book against, so keeping them accurate keeps the appointment book honest.
Leave and salary
Staff administration also covers leave and salary, so the people side of running the hospital is handled in the same platform as the clinical operations rather than in a separate spreadsheet.
- One role per staff member drives what they can do
- Self-service My Access explainer reduces support load
- Multi-hospital staff managed as a single identity
- Departments, schedules, leave and salary in one place
Platform administrators can operate inside any hospital in the group by opening its console, then work exactly as an on-site admin would.
