The patient portal
Give patients a self-service portal on your hospital's own domain to book, consult, and access their records.
The patient portal is your hospital's public front door, hosted on your own subdomain (for example yourhospital.doctsoft.com). Patients sign in and manage everything themselves, which cuts phone traffic at reception and keeps appointment books full.
Patients log in with their mobile number and a one-time password (OTP): there are no passwords to remember or reset. This matches how most patients already expect to authenticate in India.
Online booking and digital tokens
From the portal, a patient can browse departments and doctors, pick an available slot, and confirm a booking without calling in. Each confirmed appointment issues a digital token the patient carries on their phone, so front-desk staff can check them in against a number instead of re-registering them.
Choose a department or doctor
The patient selects the specialty or a named clinician they want to see.
Pick an available slot
Only slots that are genuinely open on the doctor's schedule are offered, so there is no double-booking.
Confirm and receive a token
The appointment is booked and a digital token is issued to the patient's account.
Records, prescriptions and invoices
The portal is a durable home for a patient's history. They can review past visits, open prescriptions written by their doctor, and view invoices for the care they received, all without asking staff to reprint anything.
Video consultations
Where a doctor offers it, an appointment can be a video consult the patient joins directly from the portal, useful for follow-ups and reviews that do not need a physical examination.
Family accounts
One login can manage dependents. A parent can book and view records for children, and a caregiver can manage an elderly relative, all from a single account, with no need for every family member to hold their own login.
Family accounts dramatically reduce duplicate registrations. Encourage patients to add dependents rather than creating a fresh account per person.
Rescheduling within limits
Patients can reschedule their own appointments, subject to the limits your hospital sets. This keeps the schedule tidy while still letting patients self-serve, rather than every change flowing through reception.
In development mode the OTP is shown inline on screen so you can test the portal without a live SMS gateway.
